Super Bowl LV (2021)

Super Bowl LV was played to determine the National Football League (NFL) champion for the season.

The National Football Conference (NFC) champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers beat the American Football Conference (AFC) champion Kansas City Chiefs by a 31-9 score.

It was the least-attended Super Bowl in history because of the COVID-19 standards restricting the stadium’s seating capacity to 25,000 people.

Brady was named Super Bowl MVP for a record fifth time and was the first player to win the honour with two clubs. Aged 43, he became the oldest player to receive the honour and win a Super Bowl as the starting quarterback, breaking more personal records, while Bruce Arians were the oldest head coach to win the Super Bowl at 68.

This Super Bowl was seen by more than 91.63 million viewers, the lowest number of viewers since 2006.

When combined with viewing on other platforms, all views were down 5% compared to Super Bowl LIV, while average streaming viewership increased by 69%.
