Super Bowl 50 (2016)

Super Bowl 50 was played to determine the National Football League (NFL) champion for the 2015 season. Denver Broncos defeated the Carolina Panthers, with a 24-10 final score.

The game took place on February 7, 2016, at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California, in San Francisco Bay Area. Since it was the 50th Super Bowl, the league emphasized the “golden anniversary” with multiple gold-themed approaches throughout the 2015 season.

The Broncos seized an early lead in one of the most defensive Super Bowls in history, which they never relinquished. Denver had seven sacks and four turnovers.

Carolina also stayed up by generating five sacks and forcing two turnovers. Von Miller of the Denver Broncos was named Super Bowl MVP. This was also the final game of Peyton Manning’s career; the Broncos quarterback, who also won Super Bowl XLII, announced his retirement in March 2016.
